Jets go Acoustic for
Joe Bonamassa
Mike, phill and Diccon Performed an acoustic "Jets" set last night (17th November) to support as "Guitarist" magazine described him "The new king of the blues" Joe Bonamassa at the Academy 1 in Manchester.
2300 people turned out to see Bonamassa, but Mike was Knocked out by the support and reaction the crowd gave him and the acoustic Jets set.

106.1 Rock Radio... has been a huge success and the support they are giving to live rock music in the North West is amazing. Mike is having the time of his life and we're all looking forward to more gigs in association with the station. Many thanks to all of you who have been in touch with nice things to say about our show at the launch day...much appreciated!

Two bands in one...for anyone wondering what the difference is between the Salford Jets and Mike Sweeney & the Thunderbyrds, well it's the same musicians, the SJs set is all original material (we may chuck the odd cover in from time to time) whereas the MS&T set is all covers of 60s tunes...we try to pick only the coolest and songs that very few bands play but which most people know and (hopefully!) enjoy. It's not that easy but in a fairly smug fashion we think we get it just about right.
